Amanda Abel has a MHC-P (Mental Health Counselor-Limited Permit). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University at Albany. She continued her education at Sage Colleges and received her Masters in Community and Counseling Psychology with a certificate in Forensic Mental Health. She has experience working with children (in educational and therapeutic environments), service members and family members of service members, people experiencing anxiety and depression, and more. Her clinical interests include anxiety, military/law enforcement/first responder symptoms, post-traumatic stress, challenging adjustments, life transitions, and more.

Amanda believes that life can be challenging at times, but it’s important to know you don’t have to go through these challenges alone. Therapy is a journey and it looks different for everyone. Ultimately you are the expert on your life and she is here to offer support and help you where she can. She uses different styles and therapy modalities based on the clients needs. She takes a very caring and sensitive approach but with a more direct style in sessions. She believes that we are complex and with this in mind takes a physical, mental, and spiritual approach to therapy.
