Celia Holmes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Perinatal Mental Health Certified Therapist with more than a decade of experience providing therapeutic services throughout the Capital Region. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, offering compassionate, individualized care across a wide range of life experiences and challenges.
Celia earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work through the Advanced Standing program at the University at Albany, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She has extensive training in the treatment of trauma across the lifespan and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Her additional training and certifications include Trauma-Informed Creative Arts, Sandplay Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, allowing her to incorporate both evidence-based and creative approaches into treatment.
Celia believes that meaningful therapy begins with a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. Her approach is holistic, collaborative, and tailored to the individual, recognizing that no single approach works for every person. She draws from her diverse clinical training to help clients better understand themselves, navigate difficult experiences, develop meaningful skills, and create lasting change in their lives.
Approachable and genuine, Celia strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. She brings authenticity and an appropriate sense of humor into her work, helping therapy feel less intimidating and more like a supportive partnership. Above all, Celia wants clients to feel seen, understood, and supported as they work toward greater healing, connection, and well-being.
