Katherine (Katie) Aikens is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Binghamton University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She has worked with youth, adults, and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Katie specializes in trauma treatment, and enjoys working with clients who experience depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. Her specific approach is rooted in Internal Family Systems, parts work, and attachment theory. She has a Level 1 Certification in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and has extensive experience utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy techniques.

Katie is passionate about supporting her clients in defining what a “life worth living” means for them. She believes in working collaboratively to help her clients feel empowered and supported, and is dedicated to examining how dynamics of power and systemic barriers interact to impact her clients on an individual level. Katie’s warmth and sense of humor allow her to build genuine rapport with her clients, which remains central to all of her interventions.
